SMALL-BRAND BUYING GUIDE

Low-MOQ Lingerie Manufacturing for Small and Growing Brands

A low MOQ can reduce the size of a first order, but it does not remove the need to choose the right product, size mix and commercial route. The useful question is not only 'What is your minimum?' but 'What can be ordered at that minimum, with which options and at what total cost?'

DIRECT ANSWER

What buyers should know first

For smaller lingerie orders, ready stock is usually the most practical starting point because the product has already been developed. MOQ changes with category, available inventory, color and size mix, branding and customization. Buyers should compare the complete order conditions rather than one headline number.

Ready stock is the clearest test route

GJ's selected core ready-stock styles start from 50 pieces. Selected intimate-lingerie products start from 10 pieces per color. These figures are starting points, not a promise that every style, size or color is available at all times.

Before ordering, the buyer and GJ confirm the style, current inventory, size and color mix, reference price, final commercial terms and packing requirements.

Customization changes the minimum

Adding a logo, custom label, packaging, color or material can introduce a separate supplier minimum. A product may be available in a small ready-stock quantity while the requested packaging or component requires a larger commitment.

Ask the supplier to separate the product MOQ from the MOQ for each customization element. This makes it easier to decide which elements belong in the first test and which can wait for a later order.

Use a small order to answer a business question

A test order is most useful when it has a clear purpose: compare two silhouettes, evaluate a size range, learn which colors move, test one sales channel or validate a price point. Buying many unrelated styles in very small quantities can create data without a clear decision.

  • Define the audience and sales channel before choosing products.
  • Limit the first assortment to a manageable product hypothesis.
  • Track sell-through, returns, fit comments and reorder requests.
  • Use the result to decide whether to reorder, adapt or develop a custom style.

DISCUSS YOUR PRODUCT

Send the product direction, not a perfect brief.

A reference image, target market, estimated quantity and desired timing are enough to begin a practical conversation.
