TECHNICAL BRIEF GUIDE

Lingerie Tech Pack Guide: What to Prepare Before Sampling

A tech pack turns a product idea into a reviewable set of decisions. It does not need to be perfect at the first inquiry, but the information must become specific enough for the factory and buyer to approve the same product.

DIRECT ANSWER

What buyers should know first

A lingerie tech pack should identify the style, target size and measurements, construction details, materials and components, colors, artwork, labels, packaging and revision history. Add clear images and mark unknown items for factory discussion instead of guessing.

Show the product from more than one view

Include front, back and important detail views. Use callouts for straps, closures, cup construction, elastic application, seams, bonding, lining, pads, trims and any area where the reference could be interpreted in more than one way.

If a feature is still open, label it as a decision for discussion. An explicit unknown is safer than an invented specification.

Build a measurement and material reference

Identify a base size, measurement points and the intended size range. For materials, describe the required handfeel, stretch, recovery, coverage and performance in addition to any known composition or supplier reference.

Lingerie fit depends on the interaction between pattern, fabric, elastic and components. A measurement chart should be reviewed together with the selected construction and material behavior.

Control revisions before bulk production

Give every document a version number and date. After each sample, update the same controlled specification instead of leaving approvals across separate chats and images.

  • Mark every changed measurement or construction detail.
  • Attach approved color, artwork and label references.
  • Record accepted tolerances where appropriate.
  • Align the final tech pack with the approved sample.

COMMON BUYER QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a complete tech pack for the first inquiry?+

No. A reference image, sample or clear product brief can begin the discussion. The specification must become detailed before sample and bulk approval.

Can the factory help complete missing details?+

Yes, depending on the project. Mark missing decisions clearly and ask the factory to propose workable materials or construction for review.

Is the approved sample more important than the tech pack?+

They should work together. The approved sample shows the physical result, while the final specification records the decisions needed to reproduce it.

DISCUSS YOUR PRODUCT

Send the product direction, not a perfect brief.

A reference image, target market, estimated quantity and desired timing are enough to begin a practical conversation.
